History

The Nifty Fifties Ford Club of Northern Ohio, Inc. was founded on November 11, 1976, after several months of discussion and planning by four friends. The four gentlemen, Tom Hogarth, Edward McMullen, Keith Lowery and Charles Kozelka, were all fifties Ford enthusiasts. They remain members today.55_ford_crest_sm.jpg

The Nifty Fifties is recognized as one of the fastest growing Ford clubs in America today in spite of the fact that it is a local car club. We feel the reason for such rapid growth is that it is organized and run like a fraternity rather than just another car club. There are currently about 100 members and approximately 200 vehicles in the club. The club travels to many major shows and swap meets in the area.

In addition, we sponsor a car show with a swap meet each summer and an indoor swap meet each winter. Social events include summer cruises, ’50s drive-in restaurant tour, summer cookouts and picnics as well as inter-club activities with other antique and classic car clubs.
